The Abarth 500e has been named the best “Mini Car” in the Auto Motor und Sport’s Best Cars awards, a prestigious competition by the German magazine “Auto Motor und Sport.” This marks the first time an electric model from Abarth has claimed this title, highlighting the brand’s successful shift toward electrification. With 23.6 percent of the votes, the Abarth 500e outperformed both domestic and imported competitors, reinforcing its strong appeal among German car enthusiasts.

The Abarth 500e stands out as the first electric vehicle (EV) from the Scorpion brand, blending sportiness with innovative technology. Its electric architecture offers improved weight distribution, instant torque, and a wider wheelbase for enhanced performance. Powered by a 42-kWh battery, the vehicle’s electric motor delivers 113 kW (155 hp), accelerating from a standstill to 100 kph in just 7.0 seconds. This combination of power and agility has cemented its reputation as a top contender in the mini car category.
The award ceremony is scheduled for May during the Hamburg Harbour Birthday, a notable event that will celebrate this achievement. Abarth’s success in the “Best Cars” competition marks the ninth time the brand has been honored by the magazine’s readers, underscoring its consistent popularity and performance legacy.

The Abarth EV lineup recently expanded with the introduction of the Abarth 600e. Developed in collaboration with Stellantis Motorsport, this model pushes the boundaries of EV performance, setting a new benchmark for electric hot hatch cars.
