Audi has unveiled its new electric vehicle brand, AUDI, in China, introducing the AUDI E5 Sportback at Auto Shanghai 2025. This fully electric fastback, tailored for the Chinese market, blends Audi’s engineering expertise with China’s cutting-edge digital ecosystem, marking a pivotal step in the company’s electrification strategy.

The AUDI E5 Sportback showcases a striking design with a minimalist exterior, featuring a digital surface loop, illuminated logos, and over 1,000 light units forming the AUDI Light Frame. Its luxurious interior includes natural materials, a panoramic glass roof, and a 27-inch 4K display, complemented by wireless charging and ambient lighting.
Performance is powered by a robust electric drivetrain, with four variants delivering up to 579 kilowatts. The 800-volt charging system restores 370 km of range in just 10 minutes. Advanced driver assistance, including the LiDAR-based AUDI 360 Assisted Driving system, is optimized for China’s unique driving conditions.
Audi’s partnership with SAIC accelerated development by 30%, ensuring a product finely tuned to Chinese preferences. Gernot Döllner, Chairman of AUDI AG, noted, “The E5 Sportback offers the very best qualities of Audi, reimagined for customers in China.”
With two additional electric models slated for 2026 and 2027, Audi is deepening its commitment to China’s electric vehicle market, reinforcing its focus on sustainable, premium mobility.
