EVLOMO, Siemens to Build One of Southeast Asia’s Largest EV Charging Networks

EVLOMO provides a convenient, reliable, and customer-centric network of EV chargers to drive the transition to electromobility

Thailand – EVLOMO announced a collaboration with global technology leader Siemens to build one of Southeast Asia’s largest, most technologically advanced and future-ready electric vehicle charging network.

In the multi-year E-Mobility Strategic Collaboration Agreement, Siemens will supply EVLOMO with its state-of-the-art EV charging systems and related services to support EVLOMO’s growing charging network.  The partners aim to deploy over 100 DC Fast Chargers in Thailand by 2023 with the potential to further scale up to 200 DC Fast Chargers. They will also enable training and skill development to ensure maintenance and maximum uptimes of the charging infrastructure. The agreement was signed at EEC Silicon Tech Park, Ban Chang, Thailand.

As a part of this collaboration, Siemens will offer its end-to-end portfolio of EV chargers along with digital offerings for charging infrastructure. The portfolio includes SiCharge D, which provides high-power, flexible, DC fast charging. It has a modular system that can be easily upgraded to meet future extension demands and is able to charge up to five cars with a single system. It is also capable of delivering up to 322 kW.

As a pioneer in industrial and infrastructure technology, Siemens is perfectly positioned to complement EVLOMO’s endeavor with its wider portfolio under its Smart Infrastructure business covering Electrical Products, Medium and Low voltage switchgears and Building Products – all of which are critical to ensuring stable and efficient access to the grid point.

Siemens is at the forefront of the e-mobility revolution and is dedicated to improving and increasing charging solutions and drive technology to actively lead and shape the future of e-mobility.

Siemens and EVLOMO will address two of the challenges to increasing EV adoption. Firstly, charging infrastructure availability, with EVLOMO targeting to build one of Southeast Asia’s largest EV charging network. Secondly, the speed of charging, with Siemen’s charging technology including SiCharge D. This will aid in the expansion of EV charging infrastructure to not just major cities in Southeast Asia but also in hinterland and remove range anxiety of EV drivers.

“I’m excited to announce the new collaboration with Siemens. It will further drive EVLOMO to the goal of working towards quicker adoption of eMobility and provide superfast, reliable charging for EV drivers. This will strengthen the roll-out of the charging infrastructure as needed as the world transitions to zero emission,” said Nicole Wu, CEO of EVLOMO.

“The adoption of eMobility is entering an incredible era when focused companies like EVLOMO are building critical infrastructure to transition the world to cleaner and greener transportation,” said Arjun Raju, Head of E-Mobility, APAC, Siemens. “We’re excited to be working with EVLOMO to create greater global access to super-fast charging technology to support them in leading Southeast Asia’s journey towards net zero emissions. With access to our AC and DC charging portfolio, we want to ensure that EVLOMO can select the most appropriate solution for every location, helping to get more people charging.”

Dr. Tachaphol Kanjanakul (Deputy Secretary General, EEC) said, “We congratulate EVLOMO and Siemens on entering into a strategic collaboration to ensure the rollout of DC fast charging network in EEC and across Thailand”
