This prestigious award celebrates exceptional executives under the age of 45 who are actively driving innovation and transformation within the European automotive industry.

Key Highlights

  • Dave Amantea, Automobili Pininfarina’s Chief Design Officer, was named a 2025 Automotive News Europe Rising Star.
  • The award recognizes innovative automotive executives under 45 who are shaping the future of the industry.
  • Amantea is the creator of the brand’s signature PURA design philosophy, which is the foundation for all current and future models.
  • His design leadership led to the creation of groundbreaking vehicles like the B95, the world’s first pure-electric hyper Barchetta.

A Vision for Luxury Mobility

Since joining Automobili Pininfarina in 2018, the Turin-born designer has been the creative force behind the brand’s distinct aesthetic. After his appointment to Chief Design Officer in 2022, Amantea established the company’s PURA design philosophy. This philosophy emphasizes elegant silhouettes, clean surfaces, and dramatic proportions, setting a new standard for the future of luxury mobility.

Under Amantea’s direction, Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled several acclaimed vehicles, including the Battista Edizione Nino Farina, the PURA Vision design concept, and the Battista Targamerica. “It is a huge honour to be named a Rising Star by Automotive News Europe,” said Amantea. “This recognition belongs to the passionate and talented individuals… who bring our bold visions to life every day.”

Acknowledging Industry Impact

The Rising Star award recognizes leaders who have demonstrated exceptional talent and made a significant impact in their fields. Amantea and other honorees were celebrated at the Rising Stars Dinner & Awards on June 11 at the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile (MAUTO) in Turin. This accolade adds to Amantea’s growing list of recognitions, which includes being named to Bloomberg Businessweek’s “Ones to Watch” list, highlighting his influence beyond the automotive sector and into the broader design landscape.

The Philosophy in Motion: The Battista

Automobili Pininfarina, with operational headquarters in Cambiano, Italy, and a commercial office in Munich, Germany, is dedicated to creating hand-crafted luxury vehicles. The brand’s PURA design philosophy is perfectly embodied in the Battista, the most powerful road-legal car ever designed and built in Italy.

The all-electric Battista delivers a level of performance that is unmatched by traditional internal combustion engine sports cars. It boasts 1,900 hp and 2,340 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under two seconds—faster than a modern Formula 1 car. The hypercar’s 120 kWh battery powers four independent electric motors, one for each wheel, providing a combined WLTP range of up to 476 km on a single charge. Production is exclusively limited, with no more than 150 examples of the Battista to be hand-crafted at the atelier in Italy.
