GWM ORA UK, an emerging electric vehicle brand, has introduced a new battery inspection and refurbishment initiative aimed at enhancing the sustainability of its operations. This effort will support existing aftersales services and third-party repairers within the UK, featuring a mobile team of technical experts who will evaluate the condition and repairability of batteries post-collision.

Key Highlights:

  • New in-house initiative: Dedicated team for field-based battery assessments.
  • Enhanced sustainability: Reduction in battery wastage through refurbishment.
  • Strong support network: Backed by International Motors Limited for extensive aftersales services.
  • Compliance with environmental standards: Initiative supports ORA 03’s high Green NCAP ratings.

GWM ORA’s initiative is set to decrease the disposal of batteries that could otherwise be repaired and reused. Their technical experts will conduct thorough assessments and, if feasible, arrange for the batteries to be transported to their UK aftersales and logistics center for refurbishment. This approach not only reinforces the brand’s commitment to sustainability but also ensures batteries are restored to meet manufacturer standards.

Supported by the well-established distributor partner, International Motors Limited (IML), GWM ORA UK benefits from a robust infrastructure capable of supporting this new initiative. The partnership provides access to a comprehensive network of aftersales operations, enhancing the effectiveness of the new program.

Toby Marshall, Managing Director of GWM ORA UK, emphasized the strategic advantage of their placement within the International Motors infrastructure: “Launching a new brand in the UK is no easy task, but for us it has been a little more straightforward as we sit within the International Motors Infrastructure. This means we benefit from the groups parts stocking facilities, vehicle and parts logistics, technical knowhow as well as other essential resources. Using that infrastructure, we’re taking further steps to provide even more support to our key stakeholders, such as this new battery initiative.”

Additionally, the initiative is timely as GWM ORA’s first product, the ORA 03, has received top ratings from Green NCAP for its environmental efficiency. With the launch of two model variants, ORA 03 PURE+ and PRO+, the brand aims to make sustainable driving more accessible and appealing. The new models offer advanced features and a significant driving range, priced competitively to attract UK consumers.

With this initiative and a growing network of retail partners, GWM ORA is poised to make a significant impact on the UK’s electric vehicle market while advancing its commitment to environmental stewardship.
