Hyundai Canada Unveils North American Debuts of N Vision 74 and RN22e at Canadian International Auto Show

TORONTO, ONT. – Hyundai Auto Canada marked the return of the Canadian International Auto Show with the debut of two North American reveals – the Canadian auto show premiere of the N Vision 74 and the North American reveal of the RN22e. These vehicles offer a glimpse into the brand’s electrified future, showcasing Hyundai’s cutting-edge zero-emissions technologies. The ‘rolling labs’ are a testament to the company’s continuous innovation and development in high-performance, electrified vehicles.

Hyundai Motor’s rolling labs are how it tests and verifies the company’s advanced technologies to apply them to future production models. The RN22e and N Vision 74 play an important role in the strategic development of the brand’s entire product line-up, most notably its electrified, high-performance vehicles. As Hyundai N develops and verifies state-of-the-art technologies for transfer to N production models, both the RN22e and N Vision 74 play an important role as the rolling lab for upcoming EV N models.

The RN22e is based on the all-new 2023 IONIQ 6, but pushed to its maximum performance potential. Tested to maximize N’s three performance pillars — corner rascal, racetrack capability, and everyday sports car — the RN22e offers racetrack-ready performance and opens the possibility of a high-performance EV model in the future. By adapting IONIQ 6’s streamliner design, RN22e will leverage the new EV’s aerodynamic features, maximizing performance through the addition of motorsports-inspired details.

N Vision 74, on the other hand, represents the first high-performance rolling lab built on the most advanced hydrogen fuel cell system that Hyundai N has ever created. The unique hybrid structure of the N Vision 74 combines battery-electric and FCEV systems, placed in an all-new layout. Along with long-range and fast refueling capabilities, N Vision 74 uses cutting-edge technologies to deliver consistent performance and the promise of unparalleled driving engagement.

“We are thrilled to have two incredibly exciting reveals for our return to the Canadian International Auto Show — it’s not often that Canada hosts a major reveal like that of the RN22e,” said Hyundai Canada president and CEO, Don Romano. “At Hyundai, we believe it’s important to have vehicles that suit every customer and every driver, including enthusiasts. N Vision 74 and RN22e push the limits of electrified high-performance cars, promising a future of sustainable driving fun.”

The RN22e plays an important role as the rolling lab for upcoming EV N models by enabling Hyundai N to develop and verify state-of-the-art technologies for transfer to N production models. Knowing what exhilarates enthusiasts, N is developing new features, such as N Sound+ and N e-shift to mimic sensory experiences of ICE vehicles, providing a dynamic driving experience in electrified models.

Hyundai’s design heritage blends the electrification era with high performance to shape N Vision 74. Rooted in N’s sustainable vision announced in 2015 and Hyundai’s passion for high performance, it pays homage to the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept from 1974 while also drawing inspiration from the 2025 Vision Gran Turismo hydrogen-powered concept. N Vision 74 elevates the daring attitude of the Pony Coupe concept into a future Hyundai design, with the signature Parametric Pixel lighting of the electrified IONIQ lineup providing a futuristic flourish.
