Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE Prepares for Global Expedition

PARIS, France – Nissan is offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the preparations for its upcoming Pole to Pole expedition, which will see a modified Ariya electric vehicle travel over 17,000 miles through extreme conditions from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole. The modified Ariya, which is set to be unveiled in February, will be led by British adventurers Chris and Julie Ramsey.

In order to prepare the Ariya for the harsh polar terrain of the Arctic and Antarctic, the vehicle is being outfitted with a custom rugged exterior. The modifications include a raised suspension and flared wheel arches to accommodate large tires and additional body kit, in order to protect the vehicle against some of the world’s most extreme conditions.

“Daring to do what others don’t, Nissan and the team of extreme pioneers at Pole to Pole are pushing the limits of electric mobility, accelerating towards a cleaner, safer, more inclusive world,” said Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President Product and Services Planning. “In undertaking and completing this ambitious expedition, we hope to reach and inspire action in others all around the world, demonstrating the prowess of electric vehicles and speeding up adoption as part of the solution to reducing global emissions.”

The expedition will also demonstrate the capabilities of Nissan’s e-4ORCE technology, which is the company’s most advanced all-wheel control system. The e-4ORCE system provides balance between powerful performance and control by accurately managing power output and braking performance for smoothness and stability. The Ariya, as a leader in its field, will prove to be the perfect partner for adventurous drives with its powerful performance and connected technology.

Nissan’s goal with this expedition is to increase the adoption of electric vehicles and move towards a cleaner world in support of the company’s long-term vision, Nissan Ambition 2030, which focuses on electrification as a central theme. Follow Nissan and the Pole to Pole team on their journey of a lifetime as they raise awareness of the Climate Crisis and the role electric vehicles can play in reducing carbon emissions.
