StoreDot, a leader in extreme fast charging (XFC) technology for electric vehicles (EVs), has made a breakthrough in battery performance during winter. The company’s silicon-dominant battery cells ensure EVs can recharge swiftly even in freezing temperatures, maintaining impressive driving ranges and eliminating winter range anxiety.

Key Highlights:

  • StoreDot’s battery technology achieves up to 80% charge at 14°F (-10°C) with standard speed.
  • Delivers consistent discharge performance, offering up to 70% vehicle range at -4°F (-20°C) and 85% at 14°F (-10°C).
  • Outperforms traditional EV batteries with higher energy storage, faster charging speeds, and extended battery life.
  • Future-proof solution for year-round optimal performance, regardless of climate.
  • “Our batteries deliver optimal driving range even in the most extreme, subzero conditions,” says Dr. Doron Myersdorf, CEO of StoreDot.
StoreDot Unveils Cold-Proof EV Charging

Based in Herzliya, Israel, StoreDot’s extreme fast charging (XFC) technology represents a significant leap forward in EV battery performance. Recent tests confirm that StoreDot’s silicon battery cells can reach 80% capacity when charged in cold conditions as low as -10°C, providing a substantial advantage over traditional lithium-ion batteries, which typically lose capacity in cold weather.

StoreDot‘s advancements in battery technology not only offer longer range and faster charging times but also a longer lifespan for the batteries, ensuring that EVs are a viable option for drivers in any weather condition. With its silicon-dominant anodes, StoreDot’s batteries are designed to minimize capacity loss in extreme cold, providing drivers with peace of mind and making winter travel more reliable.

In 2024, StoreDot is set to showcase the world’s first EV pack equipped with XFC technology and begin shipping its innovative battery cells to OEMs. The company’s ambitious ‘100inX’ product roadmap aims to enable charging of 100 miles in just 5 minutes by 2024, reducing this to 3 minutes by 2028, further solidifying its position as a leader in the EV battery market.
