ABB and Esyasoft Partner on Global Charging

ABB E-mobility and Esyasoft signed an MoU to co-deploy EV charging and energy-integrated mobility solutions across the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

ABB E-mobility and Esyasoft e-Mobility have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly deploy EV charging solutions and integrated e-mobility infrastructure across multiple regions. The partnership pairs ABB’s charging hardware portfolio with Esyasoft’s energy management and digital platform capabilities, targeting fleet electrification and public transit projects.

Highlights

  • ABB E-mobility and Esyasoft signed an MoU to co-deploy turnkey EV fleet electrification solutions for public transit and enterprise projects.
  • Initial focus markets include the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, with plans to expand into additional regions.
  • The collaboration integrates ABB’s charger portfolio (50 kW to megawatt-level) with Esyasoft’s grid modernization and energy optimization platforms.
  • Esyasoft’s parent company, Esyasoft Holding Ltd., is a subsidiary of International Holding Company (IHC) of Abu Dhabi, with a market capitalization of approximately $240 billion.

Partnership Scope and Market Focus

The agreement targets large-scale deployments combining ABB E-mobility’s charging hardware with Esyasoft’s project management, financing, and operational capabilities. Initial rollouts will concentrate on the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

ABB E-mobility brings a portfolio spanning fast chargers from 50 kW to megawatt-level power for heavy-duty logistics applications. The company has sold more than 68,000 high-power chargers across over 10,000 sites globally and employs approximately 1,400 people worldwide.

Esyasoft’s Energy-Integrated Approach

Esyasoft brings more than two decades of experience in the energy and utilities sector. The company’s e-mobility portfolio includes:

  • EV charging management systems
  • Fleet and asset management platforms
  • Energy optimization tools
  • Carbon measurement capabilities

This approach positions EV charging within a broader energy-integrated ecosystem, aligning infrastructure with grid capacity and digital control systems rather than treating it as a standalone asset. Esyasoft operates in over 12 countries with more than 1,200 professionals, serving over 200 million end consumers. The World Economic Forum has recognized the company as its third UAE unicorn.

Executive Perspectives

Bruno Bourguet, President of EMEA and Channel at ABB E-mobility, noted that charging infrastructure and energy management are equally critical for scaling electric mobility efficiently across diverse markets.

Abdul Karim Sawan, CEO of Esyasoft e-Mobility, emphasized the company’s focus on building solutions at the intersection of energy infrastructure, digital platforms, and operations. He said the ABB partnership supports Esyasoft’s plans to offer EV-as-a-Service capabilities globally.

Strategic Alignment

The partnership reflects growing industry recognition that EV charging deployment requires integration with broader energy systems. By combining ABB E-mobility’s charging technology with Esyasoft’s smart grid and digital energy expertise, the collaboration aims to deliver interoperable solutions aligned with national electrification and decarbonization goals.
