IONNA, the up-and-coming EV charging network, has celebrated a banner year in 2024, achieving major milestones that pave the way for a bright future. With a mission to electrify North America’s roadways, IONNA has established itself as a leader in reliable, accessible, and innovative charging solutions.

Key Highlights

  • February Launch: IONNA officially launched operations, naming Seth Cutler as CEO to lead the charge in building a reliable and amenity-rich charging network for EV drivers.
  • June Headquarters Announcement: IONNA selected Durham, North Carolina, as its headquarters and unveiled an experienced executive team to drive its vision forward.
  • July Expansion: Toyota joined IONNA’s network of founding automakers, alongside BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis.
  • October Milestone: Ground was broken for the first “Rechargery” in Apex, North Carolina, a cutting-edge charging hub with lounges, co-working spaces, and advanced charging dispensers.
  • December Partnerships: A collaboration with Sheetz will bring over 50 charging locations to the Midwest and Eastern U.S., enhancing convenience for road-trippers.

Major Developments

In October, IONNA introduced its first Rechargery in Apex, North Carolina, featuring ten charging bays and premium amenities such as co-working spaces and locally curated food options. Alongside this achievement, Jackie Slope joined as CTO to bolster technological innovation.

IONNA’s December initiatives include a public beta launch of four locations in Apex, NC; Willoughby and Springfield, OH; and Scranton, PA. These locations will offer introductory pricing starting December 27, with two additional sites in Houston, TX, and Abilene, KS, opening shortly thereafter.

Looking to 2025

IONNA continues its momentum with groundbreaking plans for four additional sites in Corsicana, TX; Reynoldsburg, OH; WaKeeney, KS; and Garner, NC, all set to open in early 2025. These locations are strategically positioned along major travel corridors, offering amenities tailored to EV drivers and travelers alike.
