EO CHARGING PARTNERS WITH YHI ENERGY

One of Europe’s leading EV charging providers is expanding its global presence to New Zealand

EO Charging has signed a distribution agreement with YHI Energy to deliver domestic and commercial charging products to the rapidly growing EV market in New Zealand. This is the company’s first distribution partnership in the region and will focus initially on it’s home charging products, before offering fleet charging solutions in the second half of 2022.

The company’s expansion into New Zealand is bolstered by the new ‘clean car’ government incentives introduced last year, which have fuelled significant growth in the number of EVs hitting New Zealand roads. In 2021, sales of electrified vehicles (including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and dedicated EVs) grew by 94 percent year-on-year in New Zealand compared to 2020, with sales of dedicated EVs alone increasing by a remarkable 344 percent year-on-year.

YHI will distribute a wide range of products from EO’s portfolio, including the business’ fleet charging solution which will be available from the second half of 2022. Products and services include:

  • Home charging: EO Mini and EO Mini Pro 2 – the world’s smallest smart home charger, designed for space and energy-conscious drivers.
  • Commercial charging: EO Genius – Fast AC charge points designed for return-to-depot fleets, workplaces, and commercial environments.
  • EO Cloud: Hardware agnostic charge point management software that gives business owners full control of their charging infrastructure for fleets, workplaces, car parks, and charging destinations.

“The electric vehicle market in New Zealand has historically lagged behind global trends but is now about to hit a tipping point. It’s critical that country-wide electrification is not stalled by a lack of charging infrastructure, both for everyday EV drivers and forward-thinking businesses.” – Sam Steele, Managing Director, APAC, EO Charging
