Aptera Motors Corp., LG Energy Solution Ltd., and CTNS Co., Ltd. have entered into a strategic partnership to advance the development of solar electric vehicles (sEVs). Announced at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a collaboration that combines LG Energy’s cutting-edge battery technology and CTNS’s manufacturing expertise to support Aptera’s mission of delivering sustainable, energy-efficient transportation solutions. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship in the mobility sector.
Key Highlights
- Exclusive Battery Supply: LG Energy Solution will supply 4.4GWh of its 2170 cylindrical battery cells from 2025 to 2031, ensuring a reliable power source for Aptera’s sEVs.
- Innovative Manufacturing: CTNS will produce battery modules and packs customized to Aptera’s proprietary designs, utilizing LG Energy’s cells to enhance performance.
- Integrated Solutions: Aptera will incorporate these components into its solar vehicles, achieving new standards for efficiency and scalability.
Under the MOU, LG Energy Solution becomes the exclusive supplier of advanced battery cells for Aptera’s vehicles. The partnership solidifies LG Energy’s presence as a trusted industry leader, while CTNS strengthens its position in the U.S. market by contributing high-quality, tailored battery packs.
