Solaris Bus & Coach’s successful tender for the four 12-meter Urbino hydrogen buses reflects the strategic push towards environmentally friendly transportation in the Artois Mobilités region. This initiative, facilitated by collaboration with the Transdev Group and the CATP, underscores the importance of reducing emissions in public transportation.

“There are a number of arguments in favor of hydrogen. First of all, it is absolutely emission-free during operation. Additionally, there are significant advantages such as long ranges, a fast refueling process, flexibility in managing a fleet of hydrogen vehicles and a distinguishingly quiet ride. I congratulate Artois Mobilités on this decision and look forward to our cooperation,” said Brice Bonavia, Director of Solaris France.

The Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses will feature state-of-the-art 70 kW fuel cells on the roof, complemented by Solaris High Power traction batteries to support peak electricity demand. Additionally, the buses will boast high-efficiency air conditioning using a heat pump and eSConnect monitoring for remote fleet management. Compliance with GSR2 standards ensures the inclusion of safety systems for road users in the vehicle’s blind spot.
