The Hyundai IONIQ 9 has been recognized as the Favorite Plug-in EV by the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA). This honor was awarded during the association’s recent Spring Rally in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, highlighting the vehicle’s impressive range and advanced features.

Recognition at MAMA Spring Rally
The MAMA Spring Rally serves as a key event for the automotive industry, where nearly 80 new vehicles are evaluated. According to MAMA President Jim O’Brill, the IONIQ 9 was a standout, generating significant interest among media members who were evaluating the vehicle. He noted, “The IONIQ 9 is an impressive three-row electric crossover that showcases innovative design, technology, and impressive range.”
This marks the third consecutive year that a Hyundai vehicle has received a “Favorites” award from MAMA, following the IONIQ 5 N’s win as “Favorite Vehicle of the Year” in the previous year.

Hyundai has positioned the IONIQ 9 as a capable, three-row electric vehicle designed to fit an active lifestyle. Ricky Lao, director of product planning at Hyundai Motor North America, stated, “With its impressive 335-mile range estimate (IONIQ 9 RWD S) bold styling, and family-friendly versatility, the IONIQ 9 is earning accolades across the country.”
The vehicle’s standard NACS port and specialized terrain modes further enhance its appeal to consumers seeking an adventure-ready and family-friendly electric SUV.
