VinFast is positioning its VF 9 electric SUV as a full-size option for Canadian families seeking to move beyond mid-size models. The three-row, all-electric SUV offers seating for up to seven passengers, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and a range of up to 518 kilometers per charge. Pricing starts at CAD 77,308 (approximately USD 55,660).

- VinFast backs the vehicle with a 10-year/200,000 km vehicle warranty and a 10-year unlimited-mileage battery warranty.

Dimensions and Interior Layout
The VF 9 measures 201.4 inches long, 88.7 inches wide, and 66.8 inches tall, with a 124-inch wheelbase. Those proportions place it firmly in full-size SUV territory. VinFast offers both six- and seven-seat configurations, with the second row available as captain’s chairs.
“The difference is you don’t have to negotiate who sits where anymore,” said Peter Annell, an early owner in British Columbia. “Everyone actually has space, even on longer trips.”
Towing capacity reaches 1,653 pounds with an unbraked trailer and 3,968 pounds with a braked unit. Cargo volume behind the third row sits at 7.4 cubic feet, expanding to 32.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are lowered.
Powertrain and Range
The VF 9 runs a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 402 horsepower. VinFast rates the battery at up to 518 kilometers of range on a full charge. That figure positions the SUV for both weekly commuting and occasional intercity trips within Canada’s expanding charging network.
“It doesn’t feel like a big SUV when you’re driving it, while not floaty,” said Liam Morin, a Quebec-based IT professional. “It’s responsive, but still comfortable. That balance is hard to get right.”
Technology and Cabin Features
Inside, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen replaces most physical controls. Soft-close doors and premium materials round out the cabin. Additionally, VinFast has integrated Sony RIDEVU, which provides access to movies, shows, and livestreams for rear-seat passengers.
Warranty and Ownership Support
VinFast covers the VF 9 with a 10-year or 200,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, alongside a 10-year unlimited-mileage battery warranty. The company’s mobile app connects owners to public charging stations across North America. Roadside assistance is available around the clock.
“That coverage was a big factor,” said Morin. “I bought the car partly for the peace of mind it offers over the long run.”
Pricing
The VF 9 starts at CAD 77,308 (approximately USD 55,660 at current exchange rates). Full-size electric SUV options remain limited in the Canadian market, and VinFast is targeting buyers who want three-row capacity without relying on internal combustion.
