Wallbox Shows Off Supernova at Its New Barcelona Plant

Barcelona (Spain) – Wallbox, a leading provider of electric vehicle charging and energy management solutions, recently hosted an event at its new factory in Barcelona. The two-day event was attended by 50 customers from 14 countries in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. Supernova, Wallbox’s next-generation fast charger, was showcased during the event.

“We are convinced that Supernova is the charger that will make it possible to create large charging infrastructure networks around the world. It is clear to all of us that electric mobility is the future, but to accelerate this transition we must be able to create a charging network that will enable long trips. Our first public charger meets all the needs of EV drivers, as it’s fast, reliable, and the user experience is very intuitive to use”, Enric Asunción, CEO and co-founder of Wallbox explained to the 50 guests.

Customers, who come from a wide variety of industries (Energy & Utilities, Automotive OEMs, Charging Point Operators, eMobility and EVSE installers), have come to Barcelona to learn about and experience the Supernova. This Wallbox fast charger can charge an electric vehicle at 60 kW, which means it can add up to 100 km of range in less than 15 minutes, making it a perfect fit for charging in urban or intercity locations such as supermarkets, shopping malls, and fast-food restaurants. In addition, its lightweight modular design offers unprecedented flexibility and allows for easy transportation, effortless installation and maintenance, and no need for heavy machinery. In fact, its minimalist design has earned it prestigious awards such as the IF Award and the Good Design Award.

Masud Rabbani, Chief Business Officer of Wallbox, thanked all customers for accepting Wallbox’s invitation: “It is essential for us that you know our first public charger, which allows us to complete an already comprehensive portfolio of EV chargers, in-depth.” “Your trust is vital for Wallbox as one of the world leaders in charging solutions for electric vehicles. Day by day we aim to increase our global presence,” concluded Rabbani.

Some of the companies invited to D26 in Barcelona were the first purchasers of Supernova. During their visit, they were able to see how this fast charger would help drive sustainability targets on a global scale. In addition, attendees got to tour the new 11,000 m2 plant, which integrates Industry 4.0, or “intelligent” systems that can make decentralized and automatic decisions on resource usage. The plant also has an energy management system that allows for the reuse of 75% of the energy consumed in production.

In addition to getting acquainted with the company’s products and facilities, Wallbox customers have also had the opportunity to visit some of Barcelona’s landmarks – like the Camp Nou stadium.
