XPENG UK has announced the forthcoming launch of the new G6 model, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026. This update introduces a new 800V high-voltage platform and advanced battery technology designed to significantly reduce charging times. The release also marks the UK debut of the dual-motor All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) Performance Black Edition.

For standard models, the G6 integrates a high-efficiency heat pump across all trims. This addition is intended to preserve range efficiency during colder weather conditions. XPENG has also implemented “Heat Boost Technology” to warm the cabin without excessive energy consumption.
Battery Technology and Charging
A core update to the G6 is the adoption of a next-generation 5C battery based on 80.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. This cell chemistry removes cobalt, nickel, and manganese from the production process.
When paired with XPENG’s Full-Domain 800V High-Voltage SiC Platform, the system supports peak charging speeds of up to 451kW. According to manufacturer data, this capability allows the vehicle to charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. The new battery architecture also reportedly delivers a 30% increase in overall lifespan.
Design and Interior Updates
The exterior of the new G6 features several aerodynamic and aesthetic refinements. These include:
- Lighting: A new 1942mm Starlight LED light bar with integrated turn signals.
- Aerodynamics: A new rear spoiler adds 5mm to the vehicle length, contributing to a drag coefficient of 0.248 Cd.
- Trim: Body-colored wheel arches replace previous black cladding, and the rear diffuser has been redesigned.
The AWD Performance Black Edition is distinguished by 20-inch black sport alloy wheels and smoked black trim on mirrors and window surrounds.
Inside, the cabin utilizes the XOS cockpit system, which offers faster application response times and improved voice recognition. Physical updates include upgraded 50W wireless charging panels and heated, ventilated front seats with massage functions.
Safety and Structural Integrity
XPENG emphasizes safety through a 4-3-4 structural framework for the battery pack. This design includes ballistic-grade armor capable of withstanding 80 tons of side crush pressure.
The vehicle is equipped with the XPILOT ASSIST system, which provides a suite of driver-assistance technologies. Standard features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Centring Control (LCC), and a Surrounding Video System.
