Iain Forsyth, Director of Product Management and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Vans USA, emphasized the vehicle’s adaptability, stating, “Daily delivery vehicles generally follow a fixed predictable route that is usually under 150 miles – making the eSprinter the perfect solution for last-mile-deliveries.“
The eSprinter’s drive system features a highly efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor available in 100 kW or 150 kW configurations, offering peak torques of up to 295 ft.-lb. It supports both AC and DC fast charging, achieving a significant charge in just over 30 minutes, thereby addressing one of the major hurdles in electric vehicle operations—charging time.
In addition to vehicle-specific upgrades, Mercedes-Benz has improved the overall customer experience by enhancing the Mercedes-Benz Charging Network and integrating services like Mercedes me Charge, which provides access to approximately 100,000 public charging points across the U.S.
For commercial users, partnerships with ChargePoint and other telematics solutions offer tailored fleet management capabilities, furthering the practicality of the eSprinter for enterprise applications.
With this latest rollout, the new eSprinter not only promises to enhance Mercedes-Benz’s footprint in the electric mobility space but also provides commercial users with a highly adaptable, safe, and technologically advanced vehicle option that aligns with modern transport and environmental demands.
