ABB E-mobility Enhances North American EV Charging Solutions

ABB E-mobility extends its electric vehicle charging solutions portfolio in North America, targeting both the public and commercial fleet segments. Discover how they are driving the transition towards zero-emission mobility.

What’s Happening

Today, ABB E-mobility, a pioneer in electric vehicle (EV) charging technology, revealed new products to boost its North American charging solutions. This latest innovation continues to support the evolving needs of EV charging systems across the country.

Why It Matters

EV sales in the United States soared above 900,000 in 2022, growing 45% during Q1 2023. It’s forecasted that these sales will exceed one million by the end of the year, fueling a growing demand for reliable, efficient, and user-friendly charging systems.

Key Points

ABB E-mobility’s new Terra 360 all-in-one charger delivers up to 360 kW of power, capable of fully charging a vehicle in under 15 minutes. The Terra 360, with its dual-outlet configuration, can serve two vehicles at once, proving a robust option for both public and commercial fleet use.

Another significant addition, the HVC360 power cabinet, provides a flexible solution for EV fleet charging depots with space constraints. Capable of charging up to four trucks or buses simultaneously, its dynamic charging capability allows tailored power distribution based on vehicle requirements.

For light- and medium-duty commercial vehicle fleets, ABB E-mobility introduces the high-output Terra AC Wallbox 40/80A. Offering output power from 9.6 to 19.2 kW, it features a J1772 Type 1 connector, several connectivity options, dedicated apps for managing charging sessions, and supports revenue-grade metering.

Bottom Line

With over a decade of experience, ABB E-mobility’s advanced EV charging technologies continue to serve thousands of facilities, public charging sites, and fleet operations. Their recent products enhance their portfolio, meeting the increasing demand for superior charging solutions for both public and fleet use.

“ABB E-mobility is dedicated to developing advanced charging technologies tailored to the needs of public charging sites and varying sizes of EV fleets,” comments Bob Stojanovic, Senior Vice President for ABB E-mobility in North America.

Having sold over a million EV chargers across more than 85 markets globally, ABB E-mobility persists in leading the EV charging industry, setting the path for zero-emission mobility.
