Fastned, a leading European fast-charging company, has launched its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Italy at Truck Park Brescia Est, situated along the A4 highway between Brescia and Padova.
This milestone marks Italy as Fastned’s eighth national market, highlighting the company’s ongoing expansion across Europe. The station boasts eight 400kW chargers, making it the largest EV charging hub in the A4 Holding Group’s highway network, and offers drivers up to 300km of range in just 20 minutes.
With plans for additional stations in Italy, Fastned is also pushing for long-term location agreements and fair competition to bolster the country’s shift toward electric mobility.
Key Highlights:
- First Italian Station: Located at Truck Park Brescia Est on the A4 highway.
- Eighth National Market: Italy joins Fastned’s network spanning seven other European countries.
- Largest A4 Charging Hub: Features eight 400kW chargers, a record for the A4 network.
- Rapid Charging: Delivers up to 300km of range in 20 minutes.
- Future Growth: More Italian stations are in development.
- Advocacy Efforts: Promoting long-term agreements and equitable policies for EV charging.

Since its founding in 2012, Fastned has been dedicated to speeding up the transition to electric mobility. With over 340 stations currently operational across Europe, the company has set an ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 stations by 2030. The new Brescia station underscores Fastned’s strategy of targeting high-traffic, scalable locations to meet the rising demand for EV infrastructure.
Strategically positioned in Italy’s EV-rich Northeast and Northwest regions—where over 50% of the country’s EVs are registered, per the European Alternative Fuels Observatory—the Brescia station caters to a growing market. Italy’s EV adoption is surging, with sales in January 2025 showing a 132% year-on-year increase and more than 300,000 fully electric vehicles now on the roads. The station’s eight 400kW chargers provide fast, efficient charging, with plans for potential expansion to accommodate future demand.
Fastned’s Italian debut is just the beginning. The company has secured additional sites and is actively developing more stations nationwide. Beyond expansion, Fastned is advocating for policies that ensure a level playing field, including fair access to public tenders and stable, long-term location agreements—key factors in scaling up Italy’s EV infrastructure along its extensive motorway network.
Michiel Langezaal, co-Founder and CEO of Fastned, shared his excitement: “I’m delighted to open our first station in Italy – a nation with a peerless automotive history and huge potential to accelerate the switch to electric mobility. This large and highly visible station at Truck Park Brescia Est will benefit drivers in Italy’s most EV-dense region, and shows what is possible when ambitious partners come together in long-term agreements, such as we have with A4 Holding. Large and impactful stations like this one are only possible under lasting and stable partnerships; that is how we will power the transition to electric mobility in Italy. We will continue to advocate for open markets and fair access to public tenders for locations to ensure we can bring more of Fastned’s award-winning charging stations to EV drivers across this beautiful country.”
As a certified B Corp, Fastned prioritizes sustainability, designing its iconic yellow, nature-inspired stations to offer a reliable and welcoming charging experience.
