Allego Moves 16-Country EV Charging Network to AMPECO

Allego is moving its 35,000+ point, 16-country European EV charging network to the AMPECO platform, handing over CPMS operations as it targets Q4 2026 completion.

Allego, one of Europe’s largest public EV charging networks, has selected AMPECO as the charge point management system (CPMS) for its 35,000+ charging points across 16 European countries. The migration also covers more than 60 roaming connections and over 200,000 registered EV drivers, who together generate approximately 1.3 million charging sessions per month. Allego said the move hands the underlying technology layer — standards, compliance, hardware integration, and ongoing maintenance — to AMPECO, freeing the company to focus on commercial programs, partnerships, and the driver experience. AMPECO’s platform, which already supports more than 200 charging network operators across 70-plus markets, will bring its AI-driven CoOperator operations agent to Allego’s network.

Why Allego Chose AMPECO

Allego said it selected AMPECO based on the maturity of its purpose-built EV charging platform, its record migrating large networks, and the pace at which it ships new capability. Allego reported evaluating not only AMPECO’s current feature set but how quickly the platform would evolve over the next 12 months, along with its ability to handle regulatory compliance across markets, charging and roaming use cases, billing and settlement complexity, and partner integrations at scale.

“In AMPECO we’ve found a partner we can trust with the technology behind our network,” said Christian Zeh, COO of Allego. “Partnering with AMPECO gives us a modern, future-proof platform that allows us to focus on what matters most: delivering an exceptional charging experience for every driver who uses our network.”

What the AMPECO Platform Brings

Allego will run on a hardware-agnostic, API-first platform that AMPECO says is already proven across 200-plus charging network operators in 70-plus markets. The open API is designed to let Allego connect its existing operational and enterprise systems and extend the platform as its needs change. At the core of the deployment, AMPECO’s CoOperator — a built-in operations agent — applies AI to network operations, including fault detection before issues reach support teams and real-time diagnostics such as root-cause analysis of failed sessions and offline chargers.

“By adopting the AMPECO platform, we know we have a scalable solution and can focus on the differentiators, on how we can make Allego stand out for EV drivers in a positive way,” said Joost Groeneveld, Director of Network Operations at Allego.

Orlin Radev, CEO of AMPECO, framed the deal as a sign of industry maturity: “Allego operates one of the largest and most complex public charging networks in Europe, and its move to AMPECO is a strong signal of how much the market has matured. Our role is to take on the complexity of the platform, so operators like Allego can focus on what sets them apart: their network, their partners, and the experience they give drivers. We’re proud to be the platform behind what they build next.”

What’s Next for Allego

The migration is targeted for completion in Q4 2026. Allego said its priorities beyond the platform switch include deeper commercial programs with site-host partners, grid-aware charging to ease network congestion across its markets, and AI-assisted tools aimed at improving the driver experience.
