Hyundai EV Owners Get 10% IONNA Charging Discount

Hyundai EV owners now receive an automatic 10% discount at all U.S. IONNA fast-charging stations, with an additional 10% IONNA bonus stacking on top through September 30, 2026.

Eligible Hyundai EV owners now receive an automatic 10% discount on every charging session at all U.S. IONNA fast-charging stations, effective August 19, 2026. Hyundai Motor America, a founding partner in the automaker-backed charging joint venture, says the discount applies when a session is initiated through Hyundai In-App Charging or Plug & Charge. IONNA is layering an additional 10% bonus discount on top of that rate through September 30, 2026, bringing the combined savings to 20% during the promotional window.

Highlights

  • Ongoing 10% discount at all U.S. IONNA fast-charging stations, effective August 19, 2026
  • Additional 10% IONNA bonus discount through September 30, 2026, for a stacked total of 20%
  • Eligibility covers select Hyundai and Genesis EVs equipped with In-App Charging and/or Plug & Charge capability
  • The ongoing 10% discount can be combined with other IONNA promotional offers, including limited-time and holiday pricing

How Does the Hyundai IONNA Discount Work?

The discount is not applied at the charger screen or through a promotional code. It triggers automatically only when the driver starts the session using Hyundai In-App Charging or Plug & Charge functionality through the MyHyundai with Bluelink app. Sessions started through any other method do not receive the automatic reduction.

Hyundai describes the benefit as a direct result of its stake in the IONNA charge network joint venture rather than a standalone retail promotion. The company states the discount is intended to continue indefinitely, though Hyundai and Genesis Motor America and IONNA each retain the right to modify or terminate the offer at any time and without notice.

Which Hyundai and Genesis EVs Qualify?

Eligibility is tied to In-App Charging and Plug & Charge hardware and software capability, which limits the list to newer model years across both brands.

Hyundai says additional EVs will be enabled as In-App Charging functionality rolls out to more models.

Charging Access as an Ownership Benefit

Hyundai is positioning the pricing move as an extension of its broader public charging strategy rather than a temporary incentive.

“Range anxiety was never really only about the battery. It’s about trust in the system built around it. Automatic charging savings for Hyundai EV owners at IONNA stations across the U.S. is the benefit: no codes, no apps, no math at the charger, just immediate savings on fast, reliable public charging built into the ownership experience,” said Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy, Hyundai Motor North America. “Hyundai is working to build confidence in the charging ecosystem through reliable charging, seamless payments, trust, and simplicity. We are investing in that infrastructure addressing one friction point at a time.”

IONNA framed the arrangement as the first of a series of automaker-specific initiatives. The network’s Plug & Charge integration underpins the automatic application of the rate.

“The power of the partnership between IONNA and the automakers is not only in delivering seamless charging, but meaningful benefits for EV drivers, as well,” said Seth Cutler, CEO, IONNA. “We’re proud to provide Hyundai customers with a 10% discount across our 150+ locations, as the first initiative designed to enhance charging for Hyundai drivers.”

The IONNA network was founded by BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Stellantis, and Toyota. The discount is available in the United States.
