Audi Expands EV Charging Network Access

Audi enhances its EV charging network, providing select e-tron owners with a NACS adapter for access to over 23,500 additional Tesla Superchargers across North America starting September 2025.

Audi of America has announced a significant expansion of its electric vehicle charging infrastructure, providing owners of select e-tron models with access to the Tesla NACS Partner Supercharger network. This move aims to enhance the convenience and flexibility of owning an Audi electric vehicle by vastly increasing the number of available fast-charging stations across North America. The integration provides Audi drivers with greater choice and helps streamline the premium electric vehicle experience.

Key Highlights

  • Beginning in September 2025, select Audi e-tron owners will gain access to an additional 23,500 compatible Tesla NACS Partner Superchargers.
  • A new manufacturer-approved Audi NACS to CCS DC fast charging adapter will be provided as a port-installed accessory for most new model year 2025 e-tron purchases.
  • The total number of fast chargers integrated into the Audi ecosystem now exceeds 28,000 stations in North America, including the existing 5,000 Electrify America DC fast chargers.
  • The Audi Q4 e-tron is not currently compatible with the NACS adapter; updates on its integration are subject to a future announcement.
  • To use the Tesla network, drivers will need to initiate and pay for charging sessions using the Tesla app.

Major Charging Network Expansion

In a commitment to provide a seamless ownership experience, Audi is integrating thousands of new charging stations into its network. The addition of over 23,500 Tesla NACS Partner Superchargers represents a major enhancement for Audi EV drivers. Combined with the existing 5,000 Electrify America DC fast chargers, the total accessible network now includes more than 28,000 Level 3 DC fast chargers. This substantial increase in charging availability makes long-distance travel and daily charging more convenient than ever before. The new charging locations will be integrated as points of interest (POI) into the myAudi app and the vehicle’s MMI navigation system for easy location.

NACS Adapter Availability for New Models

To facilitate access to the Tesla network, Audi will begin equipping most new 2025 model year e-tron vehicles with an Audi NACS DC Charging Adapter. Starting in September 2025, the UL2252 certified adapter will be included as a port-installed accessory with the purchase of a new vehicle.

The models confirmed to receive the adapter include:

  • 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron model line
  • 2025 Audi A6 Sportback e-tron model line
  • 2025 Audi e-tron GT model line

It is important to note that the new adapter is designed exclusively for use with compatible DC fast chargers. It cannot be used for NACS-equipped AC Level 1 or Level 2 chargers, such as home units or Tesla Destination Chargers.

Future Compatibility and Existing Owners

While this initiative initially focuses on new vehicle purchases, Audi has confirmed that information regarding adapter availability for existing e-tron model customers will be shared in a future announcement.

Currently, the Audi Q4 e-tron model line is not able to utilize the Audi NACS DC Charging Adapter or access the Tesla NACS Partner Supercharger network. The company plans to provide updates on myAudi app functionality and Q4 e-tron compatibility at a later date.
