Autel and ChargeLab Integrate EV Chargers for Canada Market

Autel Energy and ChargeLab have integrated their EV charging hardware and software to deploy OCPP-compliant, extreme-weather stations across Canada.

Autel Energy and ChargeLab established a strategic partnership to supply integrated electric vehicle charging stations across Canada. The agreement combines Autel’s hardware with ChargeLab’s cloud management software. Furthermore, EV-olution Charging Systems will serve as a preferred distributor for the bundled units.

Highlights

  • OCPP Integration: The charging systems utilize the Open Charge Point Protocol to connect hardware with cloud-based management software.
  • Extreme Weather Resilience: Chargers feature NEMA 4X-rated enclosures and maintain full power from –40°C to 55°C.
  • AI Network Operations: Systems include Spark™, an agentic AI designed to automate diagnostics and improve uptime.
  • Regulatory Compliance: The platform provides built-in Canadian payment processing and carbon credit assistance out of the box.

Industry Context

The Canadian electric vehicle market presents unique operational challenges. Extreme weather conditions and distinct regulatory frameworks test infrastructure limits daily. Consequently, operators require highly durable hardware combined with localized software support. Integrated solutions streamline deployment and help operators access regional incentives like the Clean Fuel Regulations. This localized approach directly addresses current infrastructure bottlenecks.

Hardware Specifications and Software

The bundled offering encompasses Autel’s complete MaxiCharger hardware portfolio. Specifically, this lineup includes the following charging models:

  • AC Elite and AC Pro
  • AC Ultra
  • DC Fast and DC Compact
  • DC HiPower

The companies integrated these units deeply with ChargeLab’s management system. As a result, the platform unlocks several smart charging capabilities. Key features include load balancing, flexible monetization, and access control. The system also delivers immediate real-time monitoring.

Additionally, operators can utilize basic cloud plans starting at $0 per month. The software automatically handles domestic payment processing. It also manages provincial sales tax compliance, covering GST, HST, PST, and QST. Therefore, operators completely avoid manual reconciliation tasks.

Executive Perspectives

The companies stated that this partnership delivers deeper integration than standard interoperability. However, both firms will maintain broad compatibility with other hardware and software manufacturers.

ChargeLab CEO Zak Lefevre explained the system’s core rationale. “By integrating that full lineup with ChargeLab’s CSMS and Spark™ AI, we’re giving Canadian site hosts and operators a single, purpose-built solution,” Lefevre said. He added that the system seamlessly handles commissioning, diagnostics, and carbon credits.

Autel Energy North America CEO Michelle Luo noted Canada remains a priority growth area. “Our hardware is engineered to perform in the most demanding weather conditions on earth, and ChargeLab’s platform makes it easy to manage, monetize, and scale,” Luo said.

Finally, EV-olution Charging Systems CTO Yuri Yudashkin emphasized the importance of localized operations. “Local 24×7 support offered by Chargelab is a key to customer satisfaction,” Yudashkin said. Customers can review the bundled packages via authorized Canadian distributors.
