Bosch’s proprietary platform offers electric vehicle drivers a seamless and convenient way to charge their cars, addressing the common challenge of finding accessible charging points. The network, which now includes over one million charging points, covers Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. In Europe alone, there are approximately 800,000 charging points, with an additional 130,000 in North America. By the end of 2024, Bosch plans to expand its network to include 200,000 charging points across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
“Bosch’s declared aim is to make charging points widely accessible and put an end to the chaos caused by different charging apps,” says Marco Zehe, president of Bosch’s Electrified Motion division. Bosch’s charging services can be accessed via a smartphone app and are designed to integrate seamlessly with vehicle manufacturers’ infotainment systems. This integration allows for a smooth charging experience that aligns with each manufacturer’s brand identity. The platform provides full cost transparency, ensuring users know exactly what they are paying for.
Looking ahead, Bosch predicts a significant increase in electric vehicle adoption, with one in three new vehicles expected to be fully electric by 2030. To meet this growing demand, Bosch’s charging solutions business is projected to expand by more than 50 percent annually through the end of the decade.
As part of its broader mobility vision, Bosch continues to be a leading innovator in the automotive industry. In 2023, Bosch Mobility, the largest business sector of the Bosch Group, generated sales of 56.2 billion euros, accounting for nearly 60 percent of the Group’s total sales. Bosch’s commitment to safe, sustainable, and exciting mobility is reflected in its comprehensive range of products and services, from electrification and advanced driver assistance systems to automotive aftermarket solutions.
