The 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS will make history as the first electric vehicle to pace the 67th Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on February 16, 2025. As the quickest SS model Chevrolet has ever produced, the Blazer EV SS delivers 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds with its Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode. The pace car is a production model featuring custom graphics and embedded strobe lighting but retains its factory performance specifications.

- First EV to pace the Daytona 500 and the first Blazer model to lead “The Great American Race.”
- Powered by Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode, generating 615 hp and 650 lb-ft torque with 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds.

Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet, emphasized the brand’s racing heritage, stating, “Chevrolet has a long history with racing – it’s in our DNA – and the Blazer EV SS is a testament to that.”
Chevrolet to Unveil Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype
Chevrolet will also introduce the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype before the Daytona 500, showcasing a collaborative effort between NASCAR and OEM partners to explore new automotive technologies.

Chevrolet to Pace All NASCAR Events at Daytona
In addition to the Daytona 500, Chevrolet will pace all three major NASCAR events during the race weekend:
- Corvette Stingray – Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 on February 15.
- Chevrolet Silverado RST – Craftsman Truck Series Fresh From Florida 250 on February 14.
Chevrolet fans attending Daytona International Speedway will have the opportunity to see all four pace vehicles – Blazer EV SS, Blazer EV.R, Corvette Stingray, and Silverado RST – up close at Chevrolet display areas.
As a dominant force in NASCAR, Chevrolet swept all three Manufacturers’ Championships in 2024 for the second consecutive year and has won the Daytona 500 a record 26 times. Defending champion William Byron, driver of the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, will aim for back-to-back victories.
