The CUPRA Raval electric urban car and the CUPRA Tindaya Showcar have both received Red Dot Awards for Product Design 2026, just days after the Raval’s global reveal. The Spanish performance brand announced the double recognition on April 16 from its Martorell headquarters. Both vehicles were judged against entries from leading automotive companies and independent design studios worldwide.

- CUPRA Raval and Tindaya Showcar both win Red Dot Award for Product Design 2026

- Tindaya Showcar honored as a forward-looking design manifesto for the brand
- Awards add to CUPRA’s prior Red Dot wins across production models and concepts
Raval Targets the Electric Urban Segment
Designed, developed and produced in Barcelona, the Raval is CUPRA’s take on a compact electric car for European cities. The model leans on athletic surfaces, strong character lines and expressive lighting signatures to signal performance intent in a smaller footprint.
Inside, the Raval carries over CUPRA’s driver-focused cabin approach. The brand cites sustainable materials, tactile quality and digital integration as core interior themes, though it has not released detailed specifications tied to the award announcement.
The Raval made its global debut through a decentralized launch format that connected the model with CUPRA’s community across several European cities. The approach was designed to tie the car to urban culture rather than a single press venue.

Tindaya Showcar as a Design Statement
The Tindaya Showcar represents CUPRA’s future design direction in concept form. It emphasizes sculpted proportions, fluid surfaces and what the brand describes as an architectural presence.
Unlike the Raval, the Tindaya is not a production vehicle. It functions as a design study, with CUPRA positioning it as a manifesto for how the brand intends to evolve its visual language beyond current production models.
Context of the Red Dot Award
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the sector’s established international design competitions. Award-winning entries are featured in the Red Dot Design Yearbook and displayed in international exhibitions through the organization’s platforms.
CUPRA has collected Red Dot recognition for earlier production models and concepts, and the 2026 double win arrives as the brand expands its EV lineup. The Raval will join production models including the all-electric Born and Tavascan when it reaches customers. The award itself follows a broader 2025 cycle in which Red Dot honors were awarded to several other electric vehicle design concepts across the industry.
Since its 2018 launch, CUPRA has delivered over one million vehicles globally across seven models. The Raval is scheduled to join the lineup in 2026 as the brand’s entry in the accessible urban EV segment.
