CUPRA has launched a three-month return option for the all-electric CUPRA Born, designed to ease concerns for first-time electric vehicle buyers in the UK. This initiative aims to provide potential EV owners with peace of mind, allowing them to experience the CUPRA Born without long-term commitment. To further promote electric vehicle adoption, CUPRA has partnered with OVO to offer 10,000 miles of free charging, and with Ohme to provide a free home EV charger.
Key Highlights:
- Three-month return option for CUPRA Born buyers.
- 10,000 miles of free charging through a partnership with OVO Energy.
- Free home EV charger provided by Ohme.
The CUPRA Born is now available with a unique return option that allows retail buyers to experience EV ownership without a long-term commitment. The scheme, named ‘Love Me or Leave Me,’ offers a full deposit refund after three months if the vehicle is returned, subject to conditions such as damage and excess mileage. This offer aims to reduce the risk of transitioning to electric mobility and is available on qualifying vehicles from CUPRA’s current stock.
The return offer applies to all CUPRA Born models, including the high-performance CUPRA Born VZ, which features a 326PS electric powertrain capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 5.6 seconds. This makes it an appealing option for those looking for a combination of practicality and dynamic performance in an electric vehicle.
Marcus Gossen, Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, emphasized the groundbreaking nature of this initiative: “It is safe to say that the new scheme is ground-breaking and will give many drivers who have considered an electric car the impetus to make the leap.” He added that while the CUPRA Born is already a strong choice, drivers can return it after three months if it doesn’t suit their lifestyle.
CUPRA has also partnered with OVO Energy to offer CUPRA Born owners up to 10,000 complimentary miles of charging with the Charge Anytime tariff, which provides smart home charging for just 7p per kWh, regardless of the time of day. Additionally, CUPRA is offering a free home EV charger from Ohme, enabling users to easily integrate home charging and manage costs through a mobile app.
David Watson, CEO of Ohme, commented on the collaboration: “This is an exciting and innovative new scheme from CUPRA and Ohme looks forward to continue to work with them as their official home EV charging partner as well as with OVO to bring low cost, low CO2 EV motoring to more drivers.”
