Dacia Adds Hybrid 150 4×4 to Duster, Bigster

Dacia will offer a hybrid 150 4x4 powertrain on its Duster and Bigster SUVs in the UK, combining 48V mild hybrid efficiency with all-wheel drive capability.

Dacia will introduce a hybrid 150 4×4 powertrain option for its Duster and Bigster SUVs in the UK later this year. The new drivetrain pairs a 48V mild hybrid system with all-wheel drive and a dual-clutch automatic transmission. As a result, both models gain electrified efficiency alongside off-road capability. Full UK specifications and pricing have not yet been confirmed.

Powertrain Specifications

The hybrid 150 4×4 uses a new-generation 48V mild hybrid architecture. It offers limited EV driving capability, a feature increasingly common across European market SUVs. The combustion engine produces 150 hp and 230 Nm of torque. Additionally, the integrated electric motor contributes 87 Nm for a combined output that enhances both acceleration and low-speed maneuverability.

Power reaches all four wheels through a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Paddle shifters on the steering wheel allow manual gear selection. This gives drivers more control during towing, off-road driving, or spirited highway runs.

Market Positioning and Availability

Dacia has built its reputation on delivering value-driven vehicles. The Duster, for instance, has been the best-selling SUV among European private customers since 2018. Meanwhile, the Bigster targets the growing demand for larger, family-oriented SUVs with competitive pricing.

However, by adding a hybrid 4×4 option, Dacia is also responding to tightening emissions regulations and rising consumer interest in electrified drivetrains. The combination of mild hybrid efficiency and all-wheel drive positions both models against competitors that typically charge a premium for similar capability.

Dacia has not yet released UK-specific pricing, trim levels, or on-sale dates. The automaker has indicated that full details will arrive ahead of a launch later this year.
