Electrify Canada Expands Electric Vehicle Charging Network in Quebec

New charging station brings Hyper-Fast and Ultra-Fast charging speeds to Sherbrooke

Toronto, ON – Electrify Canada continues its network expansion with the eagerly anticipated opening of a new DC fast charging station in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Conveniently located at the Canadian Tire store at 4100 boulevard Josaphat-Rancourt, the new station is Electrify Canada’s sixth in Quebec with additional stations planned to open in the province next year.

The four individual chargers at the station offer some of the fastest charging speeds available today – Hyper-Fast and Ultra-Fast – outlined clearly by Electrify Canada’s new labels:

Hyper-Fast: Indicates power delivery of up to 350 kW, which can provide about 32 kilometers of driving range per minute of charging depending on the EV’s charging capability.
Ultra-Fast: Indicates power delivery of up to 150 kW, which can provide about 14 kilometers of driving range per minute of charging depending on the EV’s charging capability.

This station, like most in the Electrify Canada Network, is equipped with an overhead canopy to provide lighting and shelter from weather. Customers can pay by credit card at the charger or with the its mobile app (available on the App Store and Google Play), which enables contactless payment and session tracking.

The network also deployed Plug & Charge technology, which simplifies the payment method allowing customers with capable vehicles to simply plug in to pay after initial account set up. To support drivers during all hours of travel, the company has a 24-hour Customer Contact Center.

“Our new Sherbrooke station will help enable electric vehicle mobility at the fastest charging speeds available today,” said Robert Barrosa, senior director of sales, business development and marketing at Electrify Canada. “We are committed to building range confidence for consumers by expanding the Electrify Canada network in Quebec and throughout Canada.”

Further strengthening travel routes in the important Quebec market and joining other Electrify Canada locations in Montreal, Trois-Rivieres, Drummondville, Repentigy, St. Romauld, the new station adds the first Hyper-Fast (350 kW) chargers serving Sherbrooke. The network aims to have more than 100 charging locations and 500 chargers across Canada by 2026.
