Enhanced I-PACE Brings Sleek Design and Updated Specs

The Jaguar I-PACE, since its launch, has garnered over 90 international awards, including a rare three wins at the 2019 World Car of the Year Awards for World Car Design of the Year, World Green Car, and World Car of the Year, solidifying its reputation as a top-performing electric SUV.

With its low center of gravity, advanced suspension, and dual electric motors on each axle, the I-PACE provides a unique combination of all-wheel drive performance, refinement, and agility, as well as a remarkable real-world range, comfort, and convenience. The vehicle’s technology and features have been consistently updated through seamless software updates and even more improvements are planned.

Recently, the I-PACE has been updated with a more striking design, a wide range of specifications, the introduction of R-Dynamic models, and the availability of two metallic colors in a striking satin paint finish as a new option.

Refreshed Design

The I-PACE electric SUV boasts a unique, award-winning design characterized by its cab-forward profile, short overhangs, and taut, muscular haunches. It has now undergone subtle enhancements that add even more presence.

The front grille now features a smooth Atlas Grey form instead of the previous gloss black lozenge pattern, creating a cleaner finish and emphasizing its electric identity. The vertical blades outside the front apertures and the new black and silver Jaguar badge in the grille are also Atlas Grey.

The front bumper finishers, lower door finishers, and rear diffuser are now body-color instead of Gloss Black to simplify and refine the design while reducing visual mass. Models such as the 400 SPORT feature a discreet tailgate spoiler, reflecting the I-PACE’s performance capabilities and dynamic nature.

Standard wheels on the I-PACE are now diamond-turned, and the 22-inch Style 5069 wheel has a Satin Grey finish to complement its carbon fiber inserts. The 22-inch wheels may be specified with self-sealing All-Season Tires. All models from the R-Dynamic SE now come with a standard exterior Black Pack, which includes a Gloss Black finish applied to the grille surround, window surround, door mirror caps, and rear badges.

Customers can also opt for a contrast panoramic roof, and now can specify a black finish for the rear section of the roof for the first time, to match the sweeping glass panel. And now the customers have the option to select the car with satin paints available in Eiger Grey or Carpathian Grey, which gives a sophisticated and modern look. This options will definitely give the car a more exclusive look, and stand out from the other cars on the road.

Performance and Dynamics

The I-PACE offers a true Jaguar driving experience thanks to its integration of light, compact, and efficient electric motors on the front and rear axles. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 124 mph.

Jaguar’s unique combination of comfort and agility is maintained through the I-PACE’s use of advanced double wishbone front and Integral Link rear suspension, low center of gravity, and lightweight, stiff aluminum body. The 400 SPORT model also features standard air suspension with Adaptive Dynamics electronic damping to enhance ride and handling.

Range and Charging

The I-PACE’s 90 kWh Lithium-ion battery offers a maximum range of up to 470 km (292 miles) as per WLTP testing. Charging at a 100 kW DC public charger can add up to 127 km (78 miles) of range in just 15 minutes. Customers with access to three-phase electricity and an 11 kW home wall box can charge the battery up to 53 km (33 miles) per hour and can fully charge the battery in 8.6 hours. Customers with single-phase electricity and a 7 kW wall box can charge the battery up to 35 km (22 miles) per hour and fully charge the battery in 12.75 hours.

The I-PACE also features the “Low Cost Hours Only” option which allows customers to set specific charging times that align with their energy tariffs, typically overnight, to maximize cost savings. In addition, customers can also set the charging to stop when the battery reaches a certain level, for example, 80 percent. This is particularly useful when using public chargers as it allows customers to only charge enough to reach their destination.

The car also has the “Preconditioning” feature which uses power from the mains to automatically heat or cool the battery and interior while the vehicle is plugged in, to maximize range and improve the driving experience. These functions can be set using the vehicle touchscreen or the updated Jaguar Remote App, making it easy to use.
