Hyundai’s high-performance IONIQ 5 N electric SUV has been crowned The Drive’s Best EV of 2024, marking a consecutive victory for the Hyundai brand following the IONIQ 6’s win in 2023. Competing against higher-priced rivals, the IONIQ 5 N’s innovative features and thrilling performance secured its spot as a standout in the EV market.

Delivering Thrilling Electric Performance
The IONIQ 5 N introduces advanced features like N e-Shift, which simulates the gear-change sensation of an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and N Active Sound+, which enhances the driving experience with selectable soundtracks. These include ICE-like engine sounds and futuristic audio, providing drivers with an immersive and exhilarating performance experience.
The Drive highlighted the IONIQ 5 N’s exceptional design, stating, “Hyundai’s electron-shredding hot hatchback is among the most fun you can have for under six figures… It is handily the most fun electric car I’ve driven so far, and yes, mostly because it does not feel like an electric car.”

The N Active Sound+ system uses a 10-speaker setup to provide three distinct soundtracks:
