Ford Performance has unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, which will compete in the prestigious Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with renowned driver Romain Dumas at the helm.
Key Highlights:
- The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck is designed in collaboration with Ford Design and STARD Advanced Research and Development.
- This vehicle follows Ford’s successful 2023 campaign with the SuperVan 4.2, which set multiple records.
- The SuperTruck is equipped with advanced aerodynamics and optimized electric motors for peak performance, generating 6,000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph and over 1,400 horsepower.
- The vehicle features three STARD UHP 6-Phase Motors and Ultra-High Performance Li-Polymer NMC cells.
- Designed for maximum aerodynamics, it includes a triple-element front wing, headlight ducts, hood ducts and louvers, front dive-planes, side diffusers, rear diffuser, and multi-element rear wing.

The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck will be driven by Romain Dumas, a veteran and current record holder of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. This marks his ninth appearance and second time competing with Ford Performance. Dumas expressed his excitement, stating, “After a successful 2023 climb, I’m thrilled to be behind the wheel again with this team and to help push the limits of what an electric vehicle can achieve on the turns of this legendary course. In testing, the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck has surpassed my expectations, so we are hoping for some good weather to try and do something very special.”
Continuing its collaboration with STARD, Ford emphasizes that their racing efforts in harsh and challenging conditions are essential for developing advanced and capable electric vehicles. Mark Rushbrook, Global Director of Ford Performance, stated, “To make the best vehicles for our customers, our research takes us racing in the harshest and most challenging conditions – the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck is the latest example of that.
