Harbinger, a Southern California-based electric truck manufacturer, has announced a remarkable milestone at the ACT Expo. The company secured 4,000 binding pre-orders for its electric vehicle chassis, totaling over $400 million in value. This impressive feat includes orders from prominent clients like Bimbo Bakeries USA, THOR Industries, Mail Management Services, and several leading North American commercial vehicle dealers.

Order Details and Customer Base

Harbinger’s order book showcases its appeal across diverse sectors. Notably, Bimbo Bakeries USA, part of Grupo Bimbo, and THOR Industries, the world’s largest RV manufacturer, are major clients. Additionally, commercial vehicle dealers like Doggett Equipment Services Group, Campbell Supply, GATR Truck Center, and ETHERO Truck + Energy have placed substantial orders. Mail Management Services has also ordered 40 units.

Significant Series A Funding

Harbinger closed its Series A funding with a total of $73 million, including an additional $13 million raised in Q4 2023. Investors include the Coca-Cola System Sustainability Fund, managed by Greycroft. These funds will expand manufacturing capacity and support the commercial launch scheduled for Q4 2024.

Innovative and Durable Design

Harbinger’s CEO, John Harris, emphasized the company’s focus on medium-duty electric vehicles, highlighting the unique design and safety advantages of their ground-up electric platform. The design ensures lower production costs and higher durability compared to retrofitted gasoline or diesel vehicles.

Premier Dealer Network

Harbinger’s strategy includes a comprehensive network of premier dealers and service providers. This network supports 78% of the U.S. and Canadian populations, with partners like Campbell Supply, Doggett Equipment Services Group, EBY Ford, ETHERO Truck + Energy, and others.

Advanced EV Technology

Harbinger’s proprietary electric platform includes all major vehicle systems, such as the powertrain, HV battery system, steering, and brakes. This vertically integrated approach results in cost-effective, high-performance, and safer vehicles compared to industry standards.

Government Incentives Boost Adoption

Federal and state incentives are accelerating the adoption of Harbinger’s electric vehicles. The Inflation Reduction Act offers up to $40,000 per vehicle in tax incentives, while California’s HVIP provides additional grants, making electric vehicles more affordable.

ACT Expo Participation

Harbinger is showcasing its innovations at the ACT Expo, featuring a Bimbo Bakeries USA walk-in van, a cutaway cab by Sevna, and their full suite of vehicle technologies. CEO John Harris will speak on transformative vehicle innovations on May 22.
