Jeep's Latest: The Avenger e-Hybrid

The Jeep Brand’s introduction of the Avenger e-Hybrid represents a pivotal moment in automotive history, as it combines the rugged charm of Jeep vehicles with eco-friendly technology. Set against the backdrop of Balocco’s challenging terrain, the vehicle undergoes a series of tests designed to highlight its dual capability on and off the road, boasting features that promise reduced CO2 emissions without compromising on performance.

Eric Laforge, Head of Jeep Brand in Europe, emphasizes the importance of offering customers the “Freedom of choice.” The Avenger e-Hybrid, according to Laforge, serves as a gateway to electric mobility, blending electrification with the desirable automatic transmission. This approach aligns with Jeep’s vision of accommodating evolving consumer preferences while adhering to environmental standards.

The Avenger e-Hybrid stands out with its lightweight 48V Hybrid system, which promises a nearly full hybrid experience. The integration of a 100hp internal combustion engine with a 21kw electric motor and a 48V Belt Starter ensures a seamless transition to electric drive, significantly cutting down CO2 emissions. The vehicle’s design cleverly houses a 0.9 kWh lithium-ion battery under the driver’s seat, preserving the interior space.

Fuel efficiency is a notable advantage of the e-Hybrid system, offering a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 20% compared to conventional automatic transmissions. For city driving, the savings are even more pronounced, with a reduction of up to 28% on the WLTP city cycle. Moreover, the vehicle’s capacity to operate in silent, all-electric mode for more than 50% of city trips underscores Jeep’s commitment to reducing environmental impact.

Driving comfort is enhanced through features such as e-parking, e-creeping, and e-queuing, alongside the E-Boost function for an added thrill. The Avenger e-Hybrid is not just about efficiency; it maintains Jeep’s legendary off-road capability, now complemented by hybrid technology.

As the Avenger e-Hybrid rolls out in three versions, each equipped with comprehensive safety and technology features, Jeep ensures that customers can tailor their vehicles to their preferences. From the Longitude to the Summit, each model offers distinct advantages, catering to a range of needs and desires.

Set to hit dealerships at the end of April, the new Avenger e-Hybrid marks a significant milestone for Jeep, blending traditional values with forward-thinking technology to pave the way for a more sustainable future in motoring.
