Kia Charge Reaches One Million Charging Points

Kia celebrates a major step in e-mobility with one million charging points across Europe, an upgraded Kia App, and renewable energy-backed charging supporting its expanding EV lineup.

Kia has achieved a major milestone, with Kia Charge now providing access to one million charging points across 28 European countries. This expansion enhances convenience and supports Kia’s growing lineup of electric vehicles, including the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9, and PV5.

Key Highlights

  • One million charging points across 28 European countries, including 55,000+ in the UK
  • Integrated Kia App combines multiple digital services for easy EV management
  • Plug&Charge enables automatic authentication at compatible chargers
  • Every charging session is matched with renewable energy sources
  • Access to the IONITY high-power network, with 5,000 chargers today and plans for 13,000 by 2030

Simplified Charging Through the Kia App

The new Kia App merges Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book, and the Kia Owner’s Manual into one user-friendly platform. It allows drivers to locate chargers, track sessions, manage subscriptions, and plan routes with integrated charging stops.

The EV Route Planner detects charging stations and automatically adds them as waypoints. A recent update enables users to set target charge levels directly from the map for each stop along their journey—making long-distance electric travel even more seamless.

Advancing E-Mobility Across Europe

Achieving one million charging points represents a significant milestone that underlines Kia’s commitment to providing our EV customers with a comprehensive ecosystem of public, residential, and depot charging solutions,” said Marc Hedrich, President & CEO of Kia Europe.

Kia’s success in expanding its charging network stems from strong partnerships with leading providers. The service supports AC, DC, and high-power charging, offering flexible tariff options, including Easy (free) and Plus.

Kia Charge users also benefit from IONITY’s high-speed network, which features over 5,000 points across Europe and aims to reach 13,000 by 2030. Subscription options such as IONITY Power and IONITY Ultra provide reduced per-kWh rates and monthly fees through the Kia App.

Seamless and Sustainable Charging

The Plug&Charge feature simplifies the process by automatically starting sessions once the vehicle is connected—no need for a card or app.

Every Kia Charge session is powered by renewable energy, verified through Guarantees of Origin (GOs). At IONITY stations, all electricity is 100% renewable, reinforcing Kia’s commitment to sustainable and responsible mobility.
