Automobili Lamborghini Japan recently unveiled the revolutionary Lamborghini Revuelto at its Japan premiere held on Tuesday, 6 June at Ariake Arena. The unveiling of this first-ever V12 super sports hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) from Lamborghini took place during the marque’s 60th anniversary year in front of over 500 attendees.

Why It Matters

The event was not only significant for the brand but also for the venue, Ariake Arena, a Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games site set to become Tokyo’s new sports and cultural hub. This marked Lamborghini’s first-ever event at this location, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and performance in the automotive industry.

Key Points

The Lamborghini Revuelto, with its groundbreaking new architecture and innovative design, is set to redefine the parameters of performance, sportiness, and driving pleasure. The vehicle features maximum-efficiency aerodynamics and a new carbon frame concept. An entirely new combustion engine paired with three electric motors generates a formidable output of 1,015 hp. This high-performance vehicle also introduces a double-clutch transmission (DCT) on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini for the first time.

In addition to the Revuelto, Lamborghini also celebrated its iconic V12 heritage with a display of past V12 engine models including the 400 GT, Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murciélago, and Aventador.

Visitors were offered a glimpse into the extensive customization possibilities for the Revuelto in a dedicated Ad Personam area, showcasing a wide array of exterior and interior color and trim options, and special finishes to tailor to their individual preferences.

Another highlight of the venue was the design corner, a replication of Mitja Borkert’s studio, where guests could witness live sketching and visualize the creative process that resulted in the new car’s design.

Bottom Line

According to Mitja Borkert, Head of Design, the Lamborghini Revuelto is an evolution in style while remaining faithful to the brand’s design DNA. He stated that the car opens doors to Lamborghini’s future while carrying the lineage of Lamborghini’s legendary V12.

Revuelto Product Line Director, Matteo Ortenzi, shared that the new model would redefine performance, sportiness, and driving pleasure, with its new 12-cylinder engine and hybrid technology delivering a new level of driving emotions.
