Shipments for North American EVs Begin in 2025
Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC), the automaker’s first in-house battery plant outside Japan, is set to begin production, with shipments for North American electrified vehicles starting in April 2025. The facility, a $14 billion investment, is Toyota’s 11th U.S. manufacturing plant and will produce batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
