Ordering and Pricing: Three Outputs, FWD or 4MATIC

Ordering starts today across Europe. At launch, customers can choose CLA 180, CLA 200, and CLA 220 variants, each supplemented by a 22 kW (30 hp) e-motor; 4MATIC is available on CLA 200 and CLA 220. In Germany, prices begin at €46,243 (CLA 180), with published leases from €325/month (20% down, 36 months/45,000 km).

Powertrain: New 1.5 Turbo, Electrified DCT, 48-V System

A newly developed 1.5-liter four-cylinder (M252) from the FAME family uses a Miller-cycle combustion process (12:1 compression) to reduce pumping losses in partial load. The electric motor is packaged within the new 8F-eDCT, powered by a compact 48-V lithium-ion battery (up to 1.3 kWh).

Key technical features

  • Miller-cycle turbo I4 (1,499 cc) with NANOSLIDE® liner coating and integrated exhaust manifold.
  • 8F-eDCT with integrated e-machine; recuperation available in all eight gears (up to 25 kW).
  • 48-V electric compressor enables cabin conditioning at standstill and during electric driving.

At urban speeds and loads under 22 kW, the CLA hybrids can drive fully on electric power; “electric sailing” (engine decoupled) is available up to ~100 km/h. Transitions and stop-start are tuned to be near-imperceptible.

Efficiency: Best ICE in Segment for Mercedes-Benz

The CLA 180 is positioned as Mercedes-Benz’s most efficient internal-combustion model in this segment, with WLTP combined fuel consumption of 5.4–4.9 l/100 km and 123–111 g/km CO₂ (CO₂ class D–C).

Software and UX: MB.OS with AI and Google Maps

Every CLA hybrid adopts MB.OS and the latest MBUX (Gen 4), integrating AI from Microsoft and Google. The Google-based navigation stack includes Google Cloud’s Automotive AI Agent, MBUX Surround Navigation, and real-time fused visualization on the driver display. OTA updates extend across vehicle domains, including driver-assistance systems.

Driver Assistance: MB.DRIVE (SAE Level 2) Options

European models include standard safety equipment and Distance Assist DISTRONIC. The optional MB.DRIVE ASSIST package adds Steering Assist (SAE Level 2) and introduces indicator-activated Lane Change Assist.

Interior and HMI: Panoramic Roof, Superscreen, Controls

All CLA models feature a one-piece panoramic glass roof. The optional MBUX Superscreen spans the cabin with 10.25-inch driver, 14-inch center, and 14-inch passenger displays—powered by high-performance chips and Unity-based real-time graphics. A revised steering wheel restores roller/rocker controls based on customer feedback.

Lighting and Design Options

MULTIBEAM LED headlights bring star-shaped DRLs and a connecting light band; matching star-themed taillights form the new signature. AMG Line and AMG Line Plus add sport styling, wheels up to 19 inches, and Night Package accents.

Equipment Packages (EU)

Three step-up packages—Advanced Plus, Premium, Premium Plus—layer digital extras (MBUX Navigation/Live Traffic, Entertainment), comfort features (KEYLESS-GO, memory), and systems such as MULTIBEAM LED, HUD, Burmester® 3D audio, and PRE-SAFE®.
