The new MGS5 EV has achieved a prestigious 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, marking it as one of the safest electric vehicles available. This top rating reflects the vehicle’s outstanding performance across multiple safety categories, including protection for adult and child occupants as well as vulnerable road users.

- 78% for Safety Assist
- MG HS and MG4 EV also hold 5-star Euro NCAP safety ratings
Aled Williams, Programme Director at Euro NCAP, praised this accomplishment: “Congratulations to MG for a well-deserved five-star rating for the MGS5 EV. Euro NCAP continues to push manufacturers to strive for the highest levels of safety, and it is rewarding that MG have responded so positively, with excellent performance across all areas of occupant and partner protection.”
The MGS5 EV features MG Pilot, a robust suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This technology enhances safety through collision avoidance, lane safety, cruise control, and driving aids like active emergency braking and blind spot detection. Additionally, the vehicle includes an advanced braking system, developed with Continental, featuring large brake discs and an integrated braking booster. This allows the MGS5 EV to stop from 62 mph in just 35.5 meters.
Euro NCAP, established in 1997, is Europe’s leading independent safety assessment program. It evaluates vehicles on occupant protection, child safety, pedestrian safety, and assist systems, providing consumers with reliable safety data.
