iCAUR V27 Brings Ultra EV Powertrain to Europe

iCAUR has introduced the V27 for the European market, a range-extender electric SUV whose Ultra EV powertrain pairs electric drive with a 1.5T generator the company says reaches 44.5% thermal efficiency.

iCAUR has introduced the V27, a range-extender electric SUV positioned for the European market, built around an Ultra EV powertrain that the company says reaches 44.5% thermal efficiency and generates about 14 kWh of electricity per gallon (3.71 kWh per liter) of fuel. The iCAUR V27 pairs full-time electric drive with a dedicated 1.5T range extender, the configuration iCAUR markets as “Ultra EV.” The company positions the model for European urban commuting and outdoor use, pointing to more than 93 miles (150 km) of pure-electric range and a combined range above 620 miles (1,000 km).

Highlights

  • Ultra EV powertrain: a 1.5T range extender that iCAUR says holds 44.5% thermal efficiency and produces about 14 kWh per gallon (3.71 kWh per liter) of fuel.
  • Range: more than 93 miles (150 km) of pure-electric range and a combined range above 620 miles (1,000 km), according to the company.
  • Off-road hardware: standard four-wheel-drive with crawl control, wading mode, and tank turn, plus an 8+X set of driving modes.
  • Driver assistance: 21 ADAS functions, a 540° transparent chassis view, and automatic parking assist.

Inside the Ultra EV Powertrain

The V27 operates as a range-extended electric vehicle, with the 1.5T engine working as a generator while the wheels are driven electrically. iCAUR says the system keeps the engine running in its most efficient band and uses fuel-to-electricity conversion, full-time electric drive, and kinetic energy recovery to lower running costs. Because drive is electric in all conditions, the company says the V27 avoids the noise and vibration of a conventional combustion model.

The V27’s range-extender powertrain delivers more than 93 miles (150 km) on battery alone, with a combined range above 620 miles (1,000 km), according to iCAUR. The dual-energy layout supports both charging and refueling, which the company frames as a response to uneven charging access and cold-weather conditions in parts of Europe.

Off-Road Capability

For outdoor use, the V27 comes with standard four-wheel-drive and terrain functions iCAUR lists as crawl control, wading mode, and tank turn, supported by an 8+X set of driving modes. The company says the configuration is aimed at mountain roads, wet surfaces, and unpaved tracks. The V27 also carries 39 standard mounting ports for accessories and modification.

Driver Assistance and Cabin

The V27 includes 21 ADAS functions, a 540° transparent chassis view, and automatic parking assist, which iCAUR says is intended for narrow streets and tight urban parking. Inside, the company says the cabin offers headroom and legroom for all passengers, with ergonomic seats and adjusted backrest angles meant to reduce fatigue on longer drives.
