Testing Results Reveal Strong Battery Health Across Inventory
Generational’s technology assessed more than 1,500 used BEVs and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles across Motorpoint’s nationwide network. The results showed strong battery condition throughout the retailer’s EV inventory.
Key findings include:
- Average state of health: 96.6%
- Vehicles above 90% SoH: 97% of tested stock
- Vehicles above 99% SoH: 36% of tested stock
Motorpoint stocks over 6,000 vehicles at any time and prepares more than 65,000 annually. The retailer has committed to selling only EVs with battery health ratings of “very good” or higher.
How the Testing Process Works
Generational’s solution connects a compact device to the vehicle’s OBD port. The system analyzes vehicle data to determine battery state of health, benchmarked against manufacturer standards and Generational’s proprietary EV battery database.
Results appear on a customer-facing certificate that displays verified battery condition and expected performance data. The process requires minimal staff training and completes in minutes.
