In the first quarter of 2024, Nikola Corporation marked a significant stride in the zero-emission vehicle sector. The company announced the production of 43 Class 8 Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks under its HYLA brand, successfully wholesaling 40 of these to U.S. customers. This achievement underscores Nikola’s commitment to leading in zero-emissions transportation and energy solutions.

Nikola’s CEO, Steve Girsky, expressed optimism about the company’s trajectory: “We are on track for a successful 2024 by continuing the momentum set in 2023. It’s about more than just setting goals. It’s about following through on our commitments.” The statement reflects Nikola’s broader vision of advancing zero-emission logistics.

All trucks delivered to dealers are intended for end customers, with the remaining three trucks expected to be delivered in early April. Girsky anticipates sales growth with the expansion of Nikola’s HYLA hydrogen fueling solutions, highlighting the launch of the company’s first modular refueling station and its foray into the Canadian market.

Nikola’s progress in decarbonizing the transportation industry is evident as it advances its hydrogen fuel cell and battery-electric vehicle production. The company’s forward-looking approach is not only about producing vehicles but also about creating a sustainable ecosystem for hydrogen fueling.
