- All-electric Cayenne achieves over 600 km WLTP range
- 113 kWh function-integrated battery enhances rigidity and dynamics
- Dual-sided cooling and predictive thermal management boost efficiency
- 400 kW fast charging enables 10–80% charge in under 16 minutes
The upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric introduces a new benchmark in high-voltage architecture, combining performance and efficiency. Featuring an 800-volt system, function-integrated battery, dual cooling, and predictive thermal management, the SUV delivers long-range capability with Porsche’s hallmark dynamics.
Evolution of the PPE Platform
Built on an evolved version of Porsche’s in-house Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the Cayenne Electric leverages 800-volt technology for higher energy efficiency and faster charging. Independent U.S. tests have confirmed real-world capability—near-production prototypes achieved over 350 miles (563 km) per charge at sustained highway speeds.
Integrated High-Voltage Battery
At the core of the system lies a 113 kWh lithium-ion battery that serves as a structural component of the vehicle. This integration enhances body rigidity and lowers the center of gravity.
- 12% improved cell-to-housing ratio over Taycan Gen 2
- Special aluminum profile protects cells in impact scenarios
- Lightweight structural integration optimizes packaging and safety

Optimized Cell Chemistry for Density and Charging
The Cayenne Electric uses 192 large-format pouch cells across six modules, featuring graphite-silicon anodes and nickel-manganese-cobalt-aluminum (NMCA) cathodes with 86% nickel content. This configuration delivers:
- 7% higher energy density vs. Taycan battery
- Improved charging efficiency and thermal stability
- Enhanced fast-charge capability through silicon anode innovation
Dual-Sided Cooling System
A first for Porsche, the Cayenne Electric’s double-sided cooling system manages temperature from both above and below the battery.
- Cooling capacity equals 100 household refrigerators
- Energy-efficient pressure fans cut consumption by ~15%
- Ensures consistent high-performance operation and charging stability
Predictive Thermal Management
The SUV’s Predictive Thermal Management integrates all cooling and heating circuits, continuously adjusting based on navigation, traffic, and driving data.
- Maintains battery within optimal temperature range
- Enables faster charging and improved range consistency
- Collaborates with the enhanced Charging Planner for route-based optimization

Robust Fast-Charging Performance
Porsche’s 800-volt system allows up to 400 kW DC charging, delivering 10–80% charge in under 16 minutes.
- Adds 300 km of range in 10 minutes
- Maintains high charging rate between 350–400 kW up to 50% SoC
- Operates efficiently even at 15°C battery temperature
When connected to 400-volt stations, a built-in high-voltage switch enables 200 kW charging without an external booster—expanding usability across varied infrastructure.
Wireless Charging Capability
Starting in 2026, the Porsche Wireless Charging System will offer 11 kW inductive charging for the Cayenne Electric.
- Achieves up to 90% efficiency, comparable to wired AC
- Fully automatic process via floor-mounted charging plate
- Monitored through the My Porsche app for scheduling and multi-vehicle management
“With the Cayenne Electric, we are taking e-performance to a new level,” said Dr. Michael Steiner, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Member of the Executive Board, Research and Development. “Our innovative high-voltage system combines maximum efficiency with the driving dynamics typical of Porsche.”
