Siemens eMobility is spearheading Italy’s shift towards sustainable transportation through two major EV infrastructure projects. Partnering with Autolinee Toscane and IPLANET, Siemens is deploying cutting-edge charging solutions to electrify public transportation and transform petrol stations into advanced service hubs.
Key Highlights:
- 73 charging points installed for Autolinee Toscane’s zero-emission bus fleet across Tuscany.
- 120 IPLANET logistics sites equipped with 300-400 kW chargers integrated with renewable energy solutions.
- Siemens’ DepotFinity software ensures optimized smart charging and battery pre-conditioning.
- Advanced infrastructure includes IoT-enabled systems and features for accessibility and heavy-duty EV charging.
Electrifying Tuscany’s Public Transport
Siemens eMobility is revolutionizing public transit for Autolinee Toscane, part of the RATP DEV Italia Group, by equipping bus depots in Florence, Prato, and Lucca with 73 SICHARGE UC units. These chargers, delivering up to 150 kW, ensure reliable energy distribution via Siemens’ IoT-enabled electrical systems. Additionally, DepotFinity software optimizes operations with advanced features like load-smart charging and battery pre-conditioning, enabling efficient zero-emission transit.
Transforming IPLANET Service Sites
In collaboration with IPLANET, Siemens is outfitting over 120 logistics sites with high-power chargers supporting up to 400 kW. These installations include renewable energy integrations, compact transformer substations, and telecontrol capabilities for remote management. Features like POS systems, QR code activation, and accessible interactive screens ensure user-friendly experiences. Some turnkey sites already operate with photovoltaic systems and energy storage, paving the way for heavy-duty EVs like e-trucks.
Driving Sustainability in Mobility
“Projects like these underscore Siemens eMobility’s mission to integrate sustainable mobility into everyday life,” stated Markus Mildner, CEO of Siemens eMobility. With over 100,000 chargers deployed globally, Siemens continues to lead the eBus and eTruck markets with tailored solutions addressing diverse customer needs.
Siemens’ partnerships with Autolinee Toscane and IPLANET highlight its commitment to innovation and sustainability, showcasing how advanced technology can drive a greener future in mobility.
