Powertrain and Chassis Engineering

The 2026 Trailseeker is powered by a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery. The electric drivetrain delivers a combined output of 375 horsepower, making this the quickest production model Subaru has released in the U.S. market. Acceleration sensors located at the front and rear adapt to dynamic loads during cornering and braking to optimize traction.

Subaru engineers have revised the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system specifically for this electric platform. These modifications include a variable torque split for the regenerative braking system and refined power distribution between wheels to ensure stability on varying surfaces. For off-road applications, the vehicle provides 8.3 inches of ground clearance and includes the X-MODE Dual-Mode System.

Charging and Range Specifications

The Trailseeker offers an estimated driving range of approximately 280 miles on a single charge. The integration of a standard NACS charge port allows owners to utilize an extensive network of fast chargers across the United States.

Regarding charging speeds, the system supports up to 150 kW on a DC fast-charger. This capacity allows the battery to recharge to 80% in as little as 28 minutes. An onboard battery-preconditioning system manages temperature to maintain efficient charging speeds in cold weather conditions.

Interior Dimensions and Utility

The Trailseeker is physically larger than the existing Solterra model, measuring over six inches longer and nearly one inch taller. This increased footprint yields 32.2 cubic feet of rear cargo space, which is comparable to the internal capacity of the Subaru Outback.

Utility features include:

  • Towing Capacity: Rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds.
  • Roof Load: Standard raised roof rails support a 700-pound static load.
  • Multimedia: A 14-inch touchscreen serves as the central hub, the largest display ever fitted to a Subaru.
