Subaru of America, Inc. introduced its second all-electric SUV, the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. This model blends Subaru’s iconic all-wheel-drive capability with a modern electric powertrain, offering adventure-ready performance and enhanced cargo space. Designed for versatility, the Trailseeker combines robust off-road features, advanced safety technologies, and a spacious interior. It will be available at U.S. retailers in 2026.

The 2026 Trailseeker is powered by a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering strong performance with two electric motors. Its X-MODE® Dual-Mode System enhances traction in Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud conditions, while Grip Control and Downhill Assist Control ensure stability. The SUV’s suspension is tuned for control across diverse terrains, adapting to dynamic loads for improved traction.
Compared to the Subaru Solterra, the Trailseeker is longer by over 6 inches and slightly taller, with expanded rear cargo space and standard raised roof rails. Its interior features a flat floor, ample legroom, and a 14-inch touchscreen, the largest in Subaru’s lineup. The cabin includes metallic finishes, a wide center console, and two 15W wireless chargers.
The Trailseeker’s design introduces a new Subaru EV lighting signature, with a six-star illuminated logo, redesigned headlamps, and 20- or 18-inch wheels. Safety is prioritized with the EyeSight® suite, featuring Pre-Collision Braking, Blind Spot Monitors, and Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control. With its blend of capability, technology, and space, the 2026 Trailseeker is poised to appeal to adventure enthusiasts seeking an electric SUV.
