Toyota Partners With Treehouse for Home Charging

Toyota partners with Treehouse to simplify home EV charger installation for 2026 BEV and PHEV buyers, offering virtual scoping, single-visit setup, and standard dual-voltage charging hardware.

Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has partnered with Treehouse to streamline home EV charger installation for 2026 Toyota and Lexus buyers. The collaboration targets battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) owners. Treehouse’s software platform manages the entire Level 2 AC charging setup process. As a result, customers avoid the complexity of coordinating multiple contractors.

How Treehouse Simplifies Installation

Treehouse differentiates itself through a single-visit installation model. Its proprietary virtual scoping technology eliminates the need for multiple home visits. Customers submit a few photos and complete a brief survey. In return, they receive an upfront quote within 48 hours.

From there, Treehouse manages each project from scoping and design through permitting and completion. Additionally, the company works with licensed electricians it has vetted. The goal is to ensure every installation meets high quality and safety standards.

“Treehouse complements our brands and empowers our customers with a one-stop shop to install their home-charging solutions,” said Thibaut de Barros Conti, vice president, Business Incubation & Development, TMNA.

Standard Dual-Voltage Charging Cable

All 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus BEVs and PHEVs now include a dual-voltage 120V/240V AC home charger as standard equipment. This hardware supports both Level 1 and faster Level 2 charging. Key specifications include:

  • Maximum output: 7.7 kW
  • Charging capability: Approximately 10% to full capacity overnight under ideal conditions
  • Warranty: Three years for Toyota vehicles; four years for Lexus vehicles

However, Toyota has offered this hardware with BEVs since the 2024 model year. Meanwhile, PHEV inclusion began with the 2026 model year across the U.S. California and ZEV states already require dual-voltage cables with all BEVs sold.

ChargePoint Home Flex Option

For owners seeking faster charging, a hardwired ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger is also available through Treehouse. According to Treehouse, it can reduce charging time by up to 30% depending on vehicle and setup. The charger is configurable with two plug options:

  • SAE J3400 NACS plug: For 2026 and newer BEVs
  • SAE J1772 plug: For 2023–2025 BEVs and past and current PHEV models

In addition, Treehouse provides a two-year installation warranty. ChargePoint offers a separate three-year hardware warranty.

“By bringing seamless, end-to-end home charging solutions into the EV ownership journey, this collaboration with Toyota reflects our shared commitment to making electrification easy and accessible for consumers,” said Eric Owski, co-founder and CEO of Treehouse.
