Lamborghini has launched its first plug-in hybrid Super SUV, the Urus SE, showcasing its exceptional performance at the Nardò Technical Center (NTC). This dynamic event marked the debut of Lamborghini’s most powerful Urus yet, combining a powerful twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor for a total output of 800 CV. With its advanced technology and a commitment to sustainability, the Urus SE offers both exhilarating performance and a reduced environmental footprint.
Key Highlights:
- 800 CV (588 kW) power output with a twin-turbo V8 and electric motor.
- 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds; top speed of 312 km/h.
- Features a new electric torque vectoring system for enhanced agility.
- Offers over 60 km of electric range with a 25.9 kWh battery.
- Launch event organized with ISO 20121 sustainability standards.
The Urus SE is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine combined with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. This powertrain is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, generating 800 CV and 950 Nm of torque, ensuring best-in-class performance. It can accelerate from 0 to 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h.
The vehicle’s debut also features a new centrally located longitudinal electric torque vectoring system with an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch, enabling variable torque distribution between the front and rear axles. Working in synergy with the electronic limited-slip differential on the rear axle, the system provides “on demand” oversteering for a driving experience akin to that of a super sports car.
The launch event, hosted at the NTC, also emphasized Lamborghini’s commitment to sustainability, complying with ISO 20121 standards and achieving certification from TÜV SÜD. Lamborghini’s practices aim to minimize environmental impact, focusing on energy, material, and resource management.
The Urus SE is equipped with Pirelli tires, including P Zero in three sizes (21”, 22”, and 23”) and Scorpion Winter 2 in 22”, designed to provide ideal performance in various driving conditions. Additionally, Elect™ technology enhances compatibility with electric driving modes.
The plug-in hybrid Urus SE features a 25.9 kWh battery, offering all-wheel drive and a fully electric range of over 60 km. During the event, guests had the opportunity to explore the new Electric Performance Strategies, which make the Urus SE both versatile and engaging across diverse terrains.
