Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla, a mid-engine hybrid supercar blending Formula 1®-inspired technology with luxurious design. Positioned as Aston Martin’s first plug-in hybrid and mid-engine production vehicle, the Valhalla boasts an exceptional combination of road and track performance, integrating cutting-edge features and aerodynamics for unparalleled driving dynamics. Production is set to commence in Q2 2025, with only 999 units planned.
Key Highlights:
- Powertrain: Combines a bespoke 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors for a total output of 1,079PS and 1,100Nm of torque.
- Performance: Accelerates from 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.
- Aerodynamics: Active aerodynamics generate over 600kg of downforce, ensuring stability and cornering precision.
- Hybrid Modes: Four drive modes, including a pure EV mode offering a 14 km range and a top speed of 80 mph.
- Production Limit: Only 999 units available, making it a highly exclusive model.
The Valhalla introduces Aston Martin’s most powerful V8 engine to date, paired with an advanced hybrid system. This unique powertrain incorporates an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with a built-in electric motor and an innovative electronic rear differential (E-diff) for enhanced performance and handling. The absence of a reverse gear highlights its lightweight engineering, with reverse achieved through the front axle’s electric motors.
Design and Technology
The Valhalla represents a new design language for Aston Martin, with active aerodynamics and a carbon fiber body that balances beauty and functionality. Forward-hinged dihedral doors add dramatic flair, while the aerodynamic features integrate seamlessly into the car’s exterior. Inside, the cockpit combines Formula 1® influences with luxurious materials and advanced technology, such as a driver-centric HMI system and customizable EV settings.
Driving Dynamics
Sophisticated torque vectoring, Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC), and race-derived active aerodynamics ensure precision and engagement on both road and track. Four drive modes—Sport, Sport+, Race, and EV—allow drivers to tailor performance to their preferences, while advanced regenerative braking enhances efficiency.
Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark describes the Valhalla as, “the ultimate driver’s supercar,” encapsulating the brand’s vision for future luxury performance vehicles. With its exclusive production run and state-of-the-art innovations, the Valhalla is set to redefine what’s possible in the supercar segment.
